What do you think makes your neighbourhood special?
I find the Solitude Park quite unique: the park, beach, museum, all right next to a motorway. In the summer we have a lot of visitors who stop off here on their way further south. I think that is quite special.
What is your favourite time of year in the neighbourhood?
I work in our show workshop on the 2nd floor so I don’t really see much of the weather. Which is why I can’t really claim to have a favourite season. The temperature there has to remain constant, to preserve the works; that temperature probably corresponds most closely to spring I suppose.

How do you and your work contribute to the appeal of your neighbourhood?
The Tinguely Museum, which opened in 1996, houses the world’s largest collection of works by Jean Tinguely (1925–1991). This flamboyant Swiss artist with his kinetic works was one of the most important international pioneers on the post-1950 art scene. Our display of Tinguely’s creations in the permanent collection offers a comprehensive overview of his work over four decades. Tinguely would have celebrated his hundredth birthday in 2025. We will be duly honouring the occasion of course. The celebrations will commence on 22 May, so make a note in your diaries: Everyone is warmly welcome.
Which three adjectives best describe your neighbourhood?
Contradictory, international, colourful.
